Staedtler ambassador Johanna Basford.
Staedtler has capitalised on the adult colouring book trend with a range of products that cater to creative projects, such as coloured-in Christmas cards, festive gift tags and individually-designed artwork.
Staedtler’s fineliners, fibre-tip pens and pencils are being promoted as the ideal accompaniments to the new colouring book 'Johanna’s Christmas, by bestselling artist and global Staedtler ambassador, Johanna Basford,
The recent introduction of six new colours to the Staedtler triplus fineliner range offer endless opportunity for creative expression, according to Basford.
“Their superfine, metal-clad tips ensure you can colour in even the most intricate designs with complete precision,” she said.
Basford uses the Staedtler Mars micro mechanical pencil for sketching out her patterns.
“This mechanical pencil is especially good for fine detail.” she said.
When using a compass to draw a circular frame, Basford recommends the Staedtler Mars Lumograph, which comes in 20 different degrees.
Once she has her ideas down on paper, Basford draws over the pencil sketch with Staedtler pigment liners. These have indelible pigment ink and are available in line widths ranging from 0.05 m to 2 mm for the most intricate details, such as thin veins on foliage.
